GRIMM'S cuts and grinds each wooden block by hand, so there are no sharp edges or corners. The blocks are decorated using safe waterbased dyes and a natural oil finish. This wooden block set is crafted in Germany. Remarks about GRIMM'S colors: You may notice some paint transference on the blocks. This is not considered a defect as the blocks are unlacquered. GRIMM'S does not use lacquer in order to preserve the natural feel of the wood (which is in line with their aim to integrate aspects of Waldorf and Montessori education into their toy designs). Unlacquered blocks are also less likely to slip when they are being used to stack or build. *Important Note on Delivery to the Continental US: This item is considered oversized.
