Stacking and combining new shapes is a fun and engaging way for children to gain an understanding of geometric forms. Seven children are able to play at the same time and each child can build with different forms of one color (there are 7 colors in all) or work collaboratively to build a larger structure. This set includes 4 narrow frames and the following wooden blocks: There are 42 blocks in total. The blocks are decorated with non-toxic waterbased stains and a natural oil finish. Building Set Shapes and Colors (II) is crafted in Germany by GRIMM'S Spiel and Holz Design. Remarks about GRIMM'S colors: You may notice some paint transference on the blocks. This is not considered a defect as the blocks are unlacquered. GRIMM'S does not use lacquer in order to preserve the natural feel of the wood (which is in line with their aim to design toys according to principles of Waldorf and Montessori education).
