Because stainless steel itself is safe, there's no need to coat the inside of the bottle with a plastic or epoxy lining, which is one of the main differences between a stainless steel Klean Kanteen and aluminum bottles. Food-grade stainless steel is used in the brewing, food and winemaking industries too. It's the material of choice because it doesn't retain or impart flavors. So apple juice tastes like apple juice, nothing more, nothing less. You can rest assured that your child's sippy is totally safe and flavor-free. The Kid Kanteen Sippy is designed for small hands too, so it's easy to hold. And the large-mouth makes cleaning as simple as a quick scrub with soap and water or a trip through the dishwasher. Origin: Klean Kanteens are designed in California. They are manufactured in China. Klean Kanteen visits their manufacturing facilities 4-5 times per year and perform audits every six months to ensure all of their products are produced with respect for the environment and fair labor standards. Additionally, they perform regular lab testing on random shipments through a local lab in the U.S. to ensure their products are made to their specifications and are free of hazardous substances.
