GRIMM'S 7 Rainbow Friends in Bowls is a wonderful tool for matching, sorting, and later for teaching Newton's 7 colours of the rainbow, 7 days of the week, and the 7 musical notes in the modern scale. The peg people also make colorful inhabitants for building block towns and wooden railroad sets. Tip: You can style the peg dolls with cloth or ribbons.
This set comes with 7 small peg dolls, a circular wooden frame and 7 bowls (more like little cups). Materials: alder and maple wood, water-based color stain, plant-based oil finish. Remarks about GRIMM'S colors: You may notice some paint transference on the blocks. This is not considered a defect as the blocks are unlacquered. GRIMM'S does not use lacquer in order to preserve the natural feel of the wood (which is in line with their aim to design toys according to principles of Waldorf and Montessori education). Unlacquered blocks are also easier to build with as they are less likely to slip.
