This set comes with 36 wooden pieces and a metal storage case that also serves as a canvas for your magnetic artwork. The Rainbow Snake is made of solid maple wood which is decorated with non-toxic waterbased stains. This magnetic puzzle is crafted in Germany by GRIMM'S Spiel and Holz Design. Remarks about GRIMM'S colors: You may notice some paint transference on the blocks. This is not considered a defect as the blocks are unlacquered. GRIMM'S does not use lacquer in order to preserve the natural feel of the wood (which is in line with their aim to design toys according to principles of Waldorf and Montessori education).
