Small Houses can be stacked or combined with other blocks, figures, train sets, or vehicles to create a bustling town. The lime wood houses are decorated using safe water-based stains and a natural oil finish. The windows and doors are hand-drawn. This set includes 15 blocks and a wooden frame. Small Houses is crafted in Germany by GRIMM'S Spiel and Holz Design. Note about GRIMM'S colors: You may notice some paint transference on the blocks. This is not considered a defect as the blocks are unlacquered. GRIMM'S does not use lacquer in order to preserve the natural feel of the wood (which is in line with their aim to integrate aspects of Waldorf and Montessori education into their toymaking). Unlacquered blocks are also less likely to slip when they are being used to stack or build.
