Kids don't need toys with bells and whistles to enjoy themselves. Simple open-ended toys can offer exceptional play value and a number of developmental benefits. Children's imaginations are stimulated as they play with the bowls in new ways: pretend play, stacking, filling and emptying, nesting, sorting etc. GRIMM'S uses mainly alder, lime, maple and cherry wood from managed European forests to make their toys. The stains used to decorate GRIMM'S toys are non-toxic and water-based. *Note: the colors are less opaque than shown in photo. The grain of the wood may be considered dark.* Small Nesting and Stacking Bowls (Colored, Ocean Blue Base) are crafted in Germany by GRIMM'S Spiel und Holz. Remarks about GRIMM'S colors: You may notice some paint transference on the blocks. This is not considered a defect as the blocks are unlacquered. GRIMM'S does not use lacquer in order to preserve the natural feel of the wood (which is in line with their aim to design toys according to principles of Waldorf and Montessori education). Unlacquered blocks are also easier to build with as they are less likely to slip. Age: 1 years + Dimensions: largest bowl - diameter 10 cm x height 4 cm (3.9 x 1.6 in.)
