Solid Old World craftsmanship and simple designs that highlight the natural beauty of wood are what characterizes a Holztiger toy.

 

Holztiger figures are made of solid hardwood - most often maple. Maple is hard, durable, and has a beautiful grain. Depending on requirements, oak, birch or beech may be used for some figures. The figures are colored with non-toxic water paints. To increase resistance to damage from moisture, each toy is subsequently painted with a clear satin-finish topcoat. Holztiger figures conform with the European and US safety directives for toys. Furthermore, the paints and varnishes are subject to constant quality controls by German supervisory authorities.
