Holztiger figures, with the exception of the smaller animals, are thick and feature smooth surfaces and rounded edges. As a result, they are a pleasure to hold and handle. The figures are simple in form and decoration. This is intentional as it encourages young minds to be more creative in play. Holztiger figures are made of solid hardwood (maple or beech). The figures are colored with non-toxic water-based paints. To make the figures resistant to perspiration and saliva, each toy is subsequently painted with a water lacquer. Holztiger figures conform with the European and US safety directives for toys. Furthermore, the paints and varnishes are subject to constant quality controls by German supervisory authorities. Holztiger Running Donkey is handcrafted in Europe. *Some Holztiger figures are small, while others are quite large. Therefore, please check the dimensions given below.
