Children can begin by stacking the blocks and then knocking them down. As they grow older, kids will be able to build more elaborate structures. GRIMM'S uses mainly alder, lime, maple and cherry wood to make their toys. Their colored blocks are decorated with safe waterbased dyes. Note: colors of some blocks vary from those shown in photo. This set of 60 geometrical forms are packaged in a cotton net bag. Geometric Blocks are crafted in Germany by GRIMM'S Spiel und Holz Design. Note about GRIMM'S colors: You may notice some paint transference on the blocks. This is not considered a defect as the blocks are unlacquered. GRIMM'S does not use lacquer in order to preserve the natural feel of the wood (which is in line with their aim to design toys according to principles of Waldorf and Montessori education). Unlacquered blocks are also easier to build with as they are less likely to slip. Age: 3 years + (Some blocks are small enough to present a possible choking hazard.)
