Provide a playful introduction to the world of fraction numbers: whole, halves, quarters and eighths. Kids may find fractions frustrating, but by using their eyes and hands, the concept can become more concrete for them. The pieces can also be arranged and stacked to create simple designs. This set includes 15 blocks and 1 base. The blocks and base are made of hardwood and decorated with safe waterbased stains. Fraction Circle is made in Germany by GRIMM'S Spiel and Holz Design. Remarks about GRIMM'S colors: You may notice some paint transference on the blocks. This is not considered a defect as the blocks are unlacquered. GRIMM'S does not use lacquer in order to preserve the natural feel of the wood (which is in line with their aim to design toys according to principles of Waldorf and Montessori education). Unlacquered blocks are also less likely to slip off when being used to construct. Age: 3 years + (small parts - choking hazard) Dimensions: base - 16 x 15.5 x 2 cm (6.3 x 6.1 x 0.8 in.)
