Amelie is dressed in a stylish Bavarian outfit: -
a pair of lederhosen with suspenders, a traditional front flap, and 2 heart-shaped decorative buttons. The Velcro closure is in the front. Lederhosen are traditionally made of leather, but Amelie's are made of cotton with a suede-like finish a pink checked shirt with ruffle trim. The shirt has buttons, but is fastened with Velcro a pair of white knitted socks a cotton headband in a floral print 2 white satin ribbons secure her braids a pair of pink mary janes with Velcroed straps and tiny heart-shaped perforations in the upper a necklace with a felt heart-shaped pendant. The pendant has "I love you" stitched on it Amelie has a soft cloth torso. Her head, arms and legs are made of hard vinyl which is free of nonylphenol and phthalates (confirmed by an independent German lab). The defined forms of the arms, fingers and feet make Glückskind (Child of Fortune) an ideal play doll for children of ages 3 years and older. Amelie's blonde hair is made of hand-knotted Kanekalon. Her facial features are hand painted. Amelie has blue eyes. This heirloom doll is made in Germany by the renowned Kathe Kruse doll company.
