This gorgeous block set is composed of puzzles representing the four elements: waves (water), flames (fire), cave (stone/earth) and rainbow (air). The blocks, with their organic forms, will inspire children to create works of fantasy: mountain ranges, swirling oceans, alien landscapes, futuristic skylines, winding highways, and a gallery of sculptures. The blocks can also be used as props for pretend play or to create a marble game (marbles are not included). Each wooden block is cut and sanded by hand, so there are no sharp edges or corners. The blocks are decorated using safe waterbased dyes and a natural oil finish. This set includes 23 solid wood blocks and a wooden base. The Four Elements Building Blocks Set (Small) is crafted in Germany by GRIMM'S Spiel and Holz Design. Note about GRIMM'S colors: You may notice some paint transference on the blocks. This is not considered a defect as the blocks are unlacquered. GRIMM'S does not use lacquer in order to preserve the natural feel of the wood (which is in line with their aim to integrate aspects of Waldorf and Montessori education into their toymaking). Unlacquered blocks are easier to stack and build with as they have slightly rougher surfaces.
